How Velora handles your information — in plain language.
Velora (the "app", "we", or "us") is a music and video player for Android and iOS that plays media files stored on your own device. It works fully offline. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
Velora processes the following information locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted off the device.
With your permission, the app scans your device storage for audio and video files. To build your library, it reads each file's metadata — such as title, artist, album, genre, duration, and embedded album artwork — and stores this index in a private local database. Your files themselves are only ever read for playback; the app never modifies, uploads, or deletes them.
Playlists, favorites, resume positions ("continue watching"), play counts, and listening history are recorded in the app's private local storage so features like Recently Played, Most Played and listening stats can work. This data never leaves your device.
Album artwork extracted from your music files and thumbnails generated from your videos are cached in the app's private storage so your library loads quickly.
Your settings — theme, colors, playback options such as double-tap seek and resume behavior — are stored locally.
Velora does not access your contacts, call logs, location, messages, microphone, camera, or accounts.

On iOS, Velora plays files in its own Documents folder (added via the Files app or sharing) and uses
background audio only to continue playback. The app is built without the INTERNET
permission on Android, so it is technically incapable of sending your data over the network.
Information accessed by the app is used solely to provide its core function: indexing and playing your own media, remembering where you left off, keeping local listening statistics, and honoring your preferences. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you see in the app.
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to anyone. Because the app has no network access, your files, playlists and listening history never leave your device and are never sent to us or to any third party. All processing happens on-device and app data is kept in the operating system's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side database that could be breached. You remain in control through your device's permission system at all times.
Velora is a general-purpose media player and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no data and has no online component, it poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.
Velora does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social login providers. It does not embed any third-party trackers. Media playback is handled by open-source engines running entirely on your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Since Velora does not collect or hold any of your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
