How Quotely handles your information — in plain language.
Quotely (the "app", "we", or "us") is an Android app that delivers inspirational and motivational quotes, along with home-screen widgets, auto-changing quote wallpapers, shareable quote cards, collections, moods, streaks and a daily reading challenge. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
Quotely stores the following information locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted off the device.
All quotes are bundled with the app and stored in a local database on first launch. Browsing, searching and reading quotes never requires a network connection and is never reported anywhere.
Quotes you favourite, your recently-viewed history, and lightweight engagement state (your open streak and the daily "read quotes" challenge progress) are saved in the app's private storage so the app can show them back to you.
Your settings — theme, notification times, wallpaper rotation options, widget and card styles — are stored locally. If you create a favourites backup, the exported file contains only quote references and is written to the location you choose.
Quotely does not access your contacts, call logs, location, photos, microphone, camera, or accounts.

The app is built without the INTERNET permission, so it is technically incapable of sending your data over the network.
Information on your device is used solely to provide the app's features: showing and organising quotes, saving your favourites and history, rendering cards and wallpapers, sending the notifications you enable, and remembering your preferences. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you see in the app.

All processing happens on-device and app data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side database that could be breached. You remain in control through Android's permission system at all times.
Quotely is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no data and has no online component, it poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.
Quotely does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social login providers. It does not embed any third-party trackers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Since Quotely does not collect or hold any of your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
