Privacy Policy

How iWrite handles your family's information — in plain language.

App: iWrite Package: com.dowble.iwrite Version: 1.1.0 Effective: 25 June 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

iWrite (the "app", "we", or "us") is an Android learning app that helps young children learn to trace and recognize letters (A–Z) and numbers (1–20) through guided tracing and playful games. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.

2. Information the app handles

iWrite stores the following locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted off the device.

a. Learning progress

To track which letters and numbers a child has practiced and to award stars, badges and stickers, the app saves simple progress counts on the device (for example, "letter A traced 3 times"). This is used only to show progress and adapt the difficulty within the app.

b. Preferences

Settings such as the optional child's name (used only to say hello on the home screen), sound on/off, and game records are stored locally on the device.

c. Purchase status

If you choose to buy the optional one-time "Unlock Full App" product, the app stores a simple flag on the device noting that the purchase was made, so the mini-games stay unlocked. The purchase transaction itself — including any payment details — is handled entirely by Google Play; iWrite never receives, processes, or stores your payment information. See "Third-party services" below for how Google handles that data.

iWrite does not collect names, email addresses, photos, contacts, location, device identifiers, or any other personal information, and it has no sign-in or account of its own. (Google Play handles its own account sign-in for purchases — see below.)

3. Permissions

iWrite requests two Android permissions, both used solely to support the optional one-time purchase:

Outside of this optional purchase flow, iWrite makes no other network requests and does not access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, or storage. The friendly voice that reads letters and numbers uses your device's built-in text-to-speech and works offline. If you never tap "Unlock Full App," the app effectively never uses the network.

4. How information is used

The progress, preferences, and purchase status stored on the device are used solely to provide the app's features: showing learning progress, awarding stars and stickers, adapting difficulty, remembering settings, and unlocking the mini-games after purchase. We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you see in the app.

5. Data sharing and transfers

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information to anyone. Learning progress and preferences never leave your device. The only data that travels off-device is what's required for Google Play to process the optional one-time purchase (handled directly between your device and Google — iWrite is not a party to that payment data). No serversNo ad networksNo analytics

6. Children's privacy

iWrite is designed for young children and is intended to be used with parental guidance. It is built to be safe for kids: it collects no personal information, contains no advertising, and includes no links out of the app within the child-facing screens. The optional "Unlock Full App" purchase can only be started from the Grown-ups area, which is protected by a simple math gate so young children can't make a purchase on their own — buying still requires the device owner to confirm the transaction through Google Play (which may include its own parental controls, such as a purchase PIN). Because iWrite itself collects and transmits no personal data, it poses no data-collection risk to children or families.

7. Data retention and deletion

Progress, preferences, and purchase status remain on your device until you remove them. You can:

Records of the purchase itself are retained by Google Play under its own retention policy, not by iWrite.

8. Security

All data stays in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side database that could be breached.

9. Third-party services

iWrite does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, social logins, or any third-party trackers. The one exception is Google Play's in-app Billing service, used solely to sell the optional one-time "Unlock Full App" product. When you choose to purchase, your device communicates directly with Google Play to complete the transaction; Google processes that payment under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. iWrite only ever learns whether the purchase succeeded — never your payment details.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR, COPPA, or CCPA. Since iWrite does not collect or hold any personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
