How iCalc โ€” Visual Calculator for Kids handles information โ€” in plain language for parents.

App: iCalc โ€” Visual Calculator for Kids Package: com.dowble.icalc Version: 1.0.0 Effective: 17 June 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

iCalc ("the app", "we", or "us") is an educational Android calculator for children roughly aged 3โ€“10. It teaches math visually: when a child enters a calculation, the app illustrates it with friendly animated objects and can read it aloud. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on the device. It is written for the parents and guardians who supervise their children's use of the app.

2. Information the app stores

iCalc stores the following locally on the device only (in the app's private storage). None of it is transmitted off the device or to us.

a. App & parent preferences

Settings such as voice on/off, sound on/off, volume, animation speed, difficulty mode, the selected theme, and the reward/child-safe toggles are saved on the device so the app remembers them.

b. Calculation count (rewards)

To award purely educational badges (e.g. "Math Star"), the app keeps a simple running count of how many calculations have been completed. This is just a number โ€” it contains no math content and no personal information.

iCalc does not collect a child's name, age, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or any account, and it does not ask the child or parent to create a profile.

3. Voice narration (Text-to-Speech)

To read numbers and equations aloud (for example, "three plus two equals five"), iCalc sends that short math text to your device's built-in Text-to-Speech engine. The text is only the calculation itself โ€” it contains no personal information โ€” and it is spoken by the on-device engine. The processing and behaviour of the device's Text-to-Speech component are governed by your device/operating-system settings. You can turn voice off entirely in the app's settings.

4. Permissions and why they are needed

PermissionPurpose
VIBRATE To provide gentle haptic feedback (small vibrations) when a child taps a button or completes a calculation. Haptics can be disabled in the app's settings.

iCalc is built without the INTERNET permission, so it is technically incapable of sending any data over the network.

5. How information is used

The information stored by the app is used solely to provide its features: remembering preferences, awarding practice badges, and reading calculations aloud. We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, tracking across apps or websites, or any purpose unrelated to the child's learning experience.

6. Data sharing and transfers

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information to anyone. Because the app has no network access, your child's preferences and progress never leave the device and are never sent to us or to any third party. No serversNo third partiesNo cloud

7. Advertising & in-app purchases

iCalc contains no third-party advertising, no behavioural ad targeting, and no real-money in-app purchases. Reward "badges" are virtual encouragement earned by practising and have no real-world value or cost. There are no gambling mechanics or manipulative reward loops.

8. Children's privacy

iCalc is intended for children and is built to be safe for them. We take children's privacy seriously and aim to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR provisions for children, and the Google Play Families policy.

Parents and guardians can supervise the child's use of the app and manage the device using Google Play parental controls and family settings. If you have any questions as a parent, please contact us (section 11).

9. Data retention and deletion

All of the app's data stays on the device until it is removed. You can:

10. Security & your rights

All processing happens on-device, and the app's data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side database that could be breached. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; since iCalc does not collect or hold any personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf โ€” full control rests with you on the device.

11. Third-party services

iCalc does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or social login providers, and it does not embed any third-party trackers. The only system component it relies on is your device's built-in Text-to-Speech engine, as described in section 3.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
